Abigail’s “Til Kingdom Come” series explores themes of darkness and light, and pride and downfall, and follows the story of Ravenna—a young woman who finds herself at the mercy of darkness. Ravenna’s life is uprooted, and she is consumed by a world she’s only ever known at surface level. Through heartbreak and a long journey of vengeance, Ravenna will do anything to save her loved ones from the darkness that fights to control all of Arresia.

SEA OF SORROWS (book 1.5)

BY ABIGAIL BRIER

Sea of Sorrows is book 1.5 in my Til Kingdom Come series. It follows Cove and her life during the events of Rush of Ravens. While it shares a timeline with Rush of Ravens, it should be read after.

In a kingdom that bows to the darkness, Cove’s lightmark could mean her demise. She hides among the shadows in the royal palace, serving as a lady-in-waiting to the princess, who also happens to be her best friend. Princess Mina of the Dawn Islands is the only one Cove has ever shared her secret with, but does that mean she is the only one who knows? An alliance dawns on the horizon, and as the princess prepares to take the throne, Cove finds herself split between submission and rebellion, darkness and light, and friendship and love.

DAWN OF DOVES (book 2)

BY ABIGAIL BRIER

In Arresia, there is a darkness that does not relent until you’ve breathed your last. Ravenna has been trailed by those shadows her entire life, but now, she is consumed by them. When she finds herself outside of the protections of Vestele and without the people who once served as her shield against the night, she is forced to bow before the evil Despiri king. His command hangs in the air between them, and Ravenna is met with a choice. Will she become a reluctant slave to the King of Darkness, or a willing servant of the Light she never knew?

Content Warnings for the Til Kingdom Come series…

This list will likely be added to as I continue writing. I want to preface with this: my intention for this series is to show how the light shines through even complete and utter darkness. In order to do this, my characters will be walking through lots of shadows—physically and emotionally. I do not write these dark themes lightly, or to glorify them. I only want to portray the darker parts of life accurately so that I can better paint a picture of the beauty of the light.

Because of the heavy themes, my recommended age rating for the Til Kingdom Come series is 18+

  • depictions of death and violence

  • descriptions of torture

  • depression and grief

  • thoughts of suicide / losing the will to live

  • human trafficking, slavery, and maltreatment - this is a major theme in the series as it deals with the persecution of a specific group of people

  • there is no sexual assault on or off page, but there are lewd comments here and there made by antagonists that could be considered sexual harassment by some readers

  • This series will remain free of explicit sexual content. There will be some romantic storylines throughout the series, but sex will remain off-page and only be implied if I felt it was needed to further the storyline.

  • no foul language

Romans 8:18 ESV

For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.

What is Abigail up to?

Hi!

Thanks for being here. I am currently working on line & copy edits for my novella (Sea of Sorrows, book 1.5) and developmental edits for Dawn of Doves, book 2 in my series! The next several months will be very busy for me as I prepare these books for publication. I am so excited that you all are excited for the continuation of this series after reading Rush of Ravens. Rush of Ravens is my baby and I am in awe of all of the support I have received thus far on “bookstagram.” Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your comments, messages, and shares. They do not go unnoticed.

This story is very close to my heart—as it comes from a place of deep joy I have because of my Savior, Jesus. With open arms in the midst of grief, darkness, and utter brokenness, He has always been there. I hope this series can convey the true message of hope, an eternal light in a transient darkness, that He has shown to me. All my hope is in Jesus and I owe all of the glory to Him, forever.

“The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light,
And upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death
Light has dawned.”

Matthew 4:16 NKJV
